Regional Management Accountant – West Africa

  • Provide leadership and direction for the finance and administration functions across MSALABS operations in West Africa
  • Provide coverage and support as applicable to West Africa Team, including training and development of local teams
  • Supervise the Financial Accounting and Management Accounting function across MSALABS operations in West Africa
  • Based in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for the finance and administration functions across MSALABS operations in West Africa
  • Provide coverage and support as applicable to West Africa Team, including training and development of local teams
  • Supervise the Financial Accounting and Management Accounting function across MSALABS operations in West Africa
  • Ensure that each finance department is run effectively, efficiently, professionally and is compliant with all relevant taxation, corporate governance legislation and Company policy
  • Assist with the external audit processes across all countries in the region
  • Assist in the development of the finance and administration strategy and implementation in line with corporate strategy
Requirements
  • Undergraduate qualification in Accounting
  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • A professional qualification (or working towards) in the field of Accounting/Internal Auditing would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field of Accounting/Finance or Auditing
  • Working experience in the mining or manufacturing industry preferable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior/leadership role
  • Experience working with foreign multi-national enterprises
  • Good knowledge and experience with ERP systems such as D365, Sage, SAP, Oracle, Pronto or Sun
  • Strong leadership and self-organisation skills – the ability to lead a team and obtain results
  • Effective communication skills, both English and French would be an advantage
  • Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and be proactive
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and a pragmatic approach to work
  • Excel knowledge (intermediate to advanced level)
  • Must be willing to undertake frequent travel throughout West Africa
